For the past three days, I've been walking through the streets of Paris with billboards everywhere that caught my attention. Billboards at common bus stops, street lights, and even the Paris Opera House, which was under repair, used Chanel's perfume ads to cover the building.
These billboards as a form of OOH (Out of Home Advertising) adds a dynamic and vibrant touch to the city's ambiance.

OOH also plays a significant role in shaping the landscape in New York. The skyscrapers and bustling streets in New York cause a larger castle and higher density in OOH advertising, Times square is a great example of this.
New York City's OOH advertising landscape often aligns with its reputation as a global business and entertainment hub, showcasing brands and products in iconic locations like Times Square and along Broadway.

While Paris's rich cultural heritage and iconic landmarks offer unique opportunities for creative OOH advertising. They tend to be more spread out and focusing on specific locations or buildings, such as the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, and Notre-Dame Cathedral. These culturally significant locations offer unique opportunities for creative and captivating campaigns.

In Paris, OOH advertising emphasizes on preserving the historic aesthetic of the building, most of it are traditional billboards: hand-painted murals, and artistic installations. Some of the billboards are adorned with an array of street furniture. Brands utilize street furniture to showcase their products or services that seamlessly blend with the city's aesthetic.

New York City's OOH advertising landscape often aligns with its reputation as a global business and entertainment hub, embraces the modern and dynamic nature of its urban environment, with larger-scale and technologically advanced displays.
To conclude, both cities have thriving OOH advertising reflecting its own cultural identities of the city. I personally would enjoy the OOH in Paris more, because it looks more natural to me without a hard selling feeling when the advertising is integrated into its historical buildings.
Excellent analysis! Loved how you captured the vibrant integration of billboards with Paris's historic buildings and the bustling nature of OOH in New York. Thank you for the insightful read!
