From Swag to Tattoos: The World of Corporate Freebies

Writer: Jackie BenischJackie Benisch

I am a sucker for a freebie. Any event with goodie bags or even a free cookie makes me a happy camper. As a consumer, I am very easily pleased when it comes to small gifts from companies. However, my recent trip to Paris took the concept of corporate freebies to a whole new level.

The Festival Experience

The festival I attended in Paris was a paradise for freebie lovers like myself. The array of tote bags, sunscreen, and fans was endless. But what truly caught my attention was the high-end level of corporate freebies being handed out.

Amazon's Luxe Giveaway

At an Amazon event featuring a beauty influencer, the company handed out high-end lip balms from the brand Summer Fridays. Each lip balm retails for $25, making it a luxurious and thoughtful gift for attendees, many of whom were from the beauty industry. This strategic choice not only delighted the audience but also aligned perfectly with their interests.

Innovative Photo Booth

Another standout moment was Amazon's unique photo booth. It wasn't just any photo booth; it used AI to take a photo of you and transform it, placing you in a location of your choosing. This offered attendees a memorable and personalized keepsake from the event, blending technology with creativity for a lasting impression.

The Ultimate Freebie: A Tattoo

However, the pinnacle of my freebie experience came courtesy of Pinterest. They brought in a high-end tattoo shop from London, offering attendees the chance to get a free tattoo. I was thrilled to choose from their wide array of flash designs, selecting both the size and placement of my tattoo—all for free. It was an incredible and unforgettable experience, setting a new standard for corporate giveaways.

A Personal Touch

These experiences not only highlight the power of freebies in marketing but also underscore the importance of thoughtful and relevant gifts. Small gestures, like a lip balm or a personalized photo, can create lasting positive impressions. And extraordinary gestures, like a free tattoo, can turn an event into a cherished memory.

In conclusion, my time in Paris opened my eyes to the art of freebies in marketing. These thoughtfully chosen gifts not only enhance the consumer experience but also build strong brand loyalty. Whether it’s a luxurious lip balm, a personalized photo, or a permanent piece of art, the impact of a well-chosen freebie is undeniable.
